Another opportunity to win over those Denver Nuggets! First quarter it looked
pretty grim..not until the last half did we see some of the Lakers start to realize
apparently who they were up against..then they even tied the score several times.
The coach for Denver, George Karl, was there with everyone taking turns in hugs
as he battles with throat cancer and into both radiation and chemo. Kobe had a
low scoring game for him.Ron Artest threw three pointers to let the stadium rise
out of their chairs and cheer and then Jordan Farmer came in to the game to do
likewise and about brought down the house and yes our Lakers won to break
the jinx even letting DJ come on to the court for a little bit. Good show!!!

What a fast paced game this one was Friday at Staples Center!
Playing with Philadelphia 76er's., the Lakers were neck to neck
during most of the game with Pau Gasol making 23 points and
11 rebounds.Andrew Bynum came close to that too making
20 points with 13 rebounds. Kobe Bryant led the team by mostly
being its' facilitator this game. It was fun to see the quickness
during the entire game of the players hurrying down the court and
of course noting Jack Nicholson sitting courtside wearing his
lucky purple shirt! Lakers did win too.. 99-90.
From time to time we will see a "Kudo's Korner"
in this short article..so today we give a high five to coach Phil
Jackson
for saying that from now on he will try to be more
defensive and stand up for his players when it is evident a
wrong call was made by the referee's as was the case recently
with Andrew Bynum speaking out and then getting chastised
and fined a $25,000 penalty for it. Team leaders usually do the
arguments in speaking up for a team member in these cases.

Win some, lose some.In spite of being in the lead during parts of
the game with Dallas Wednesday, points were missed and throws
were missed, so the Mavericks won.Ron Artest however, has
become quite a new-found defensive power. Kobe Bryant actually
did pass Reggie Miller for 13th. place on NBA's all time scoring
list plus back on Feb. 1st. he passed Jerry West as Lakers
all-time leading scorer. He had 25,278 points going in to the
game Wednesday with Dallas! Now there is time on Friday
for redemption playing Philadelphia. Let's cheer those Lakers on!

The Tuesday game showed us what the Lakers are made of.
20 points ahead early in the first quarters and then slacking
off later in 3rd.&4th gave us the willies certainly and made
us sit on edge of our seats..lost points when Derrick missed
and then neither Pau,
Kobe or Andrew made all of their
free throws, it was pretty rough to watch. None of the ankle
injury appeared to curtail the efforts our Kobe gave the fans.
Seconds to go and it looked like a lost cause, with our #24
coming into the fray. He heaved a huge 3 pointer to win
the Memphis game by one point! Talk about a thriller!
Way to go!

Really do believe that Walton family taught their young ones basketball
from crib age on up..they are certainly following in their Dad's footsteps.
Our Lakers winning NBA championship 2009 was noted at the fifth annual
L.A. sports awards recently at the J.W. Marriott in L.A.
Hard having Kobe out with injury but doubt it will keep him at bay very long.
Both Gasol brothers will be battling it out in Memphis game coming up. Perhaps
Luke will finally get out on the courts again too to help out after back pinched
nerve becomes healed. Ron Artest is becoming a player to contend with too.
Looking forward to back to back games to see how the play unfolds.
